Care and Use

Thank you for purchasing one of our carefully fabricated pieces of woodwork. All of our products, except the cutting boards, are finished with the finest conversion varnish or paint available. The clear finish itself is resistant to heavy wear, alcohol, water and vinegar yet keeps the natural wood surface available to the eye and hand. Finished wood requires only an occasional soft dry cloth for dusting and cleaning. A mildly damp soft cloth may be used for the removal of dried residues and food. If you use a wax for a patina and sheen, use only a very fine film of butchers type wax. As with any fine wooden furniture, avoid direct sunlight or overexposure to sources of heat.

Our bread boards need only mineral oil to restore the brilliance of the natural wood colors. Use a minimum of water and un-soaped scouring pad or sponge to clean. Do not soak bread boards. Breadboards may be sanded to remove strong stains or flavors, however a well oiled board will resist both.

For Damage During Shipment and Returns

If your purchased item is broken during shipment please save all the materials shipped. Re-pack the damaged product and place the enclosed return label on the secured box. The return must be made within three weeks of the date shipped. For Domestic returns please call UPS at 1-800-748-5877 to schedule the pick up. For an international return we can be reached at 1-413-498-0283 or 1-978-544-2694. We will also respond to email sent to mhw@michaelhumphries.com . Please let us know where you will be returning the package from and we will respond with a pick up number for your location. A replacement will be sent when the damaged product is received.
